With roughly 1,000 employees, of which around 800 work in the warehouse, reaching everyone proved difficult. The lack of email addresses for warehouse staff made it especially challenging to deliver messages from management and gather employee feedback. Previously, they relied on an idea box and manager-to-employee communication via email. 

People without email addresses who work in the warehouses were in general hard to reach, especially with messages from our management, but also their opinions on matters were very difficult to capture.

The Solution: 

An employee communications platform that offers everything from A to Z

In 2019, they discovered Speakap at a conference. They saw it as a solution, offering everything they needed. Speakap's employee communications platform became the bridge Scania Parts Logistics needed. Gone are the days of suggestion boxes and verbal relays of management messages. Speakap allows for direct communication, ensuring everyone receives essential updates and can easily share their thoughts.

The initial plan was a slow rollout starting in April 2020. But with the unexpected events of that year, they opted for a faster approach. Everyone received a letter with their login credentials at the end of March. This swift transition proved beneficial, allowing them to easily connect with employees working remotely due to COVID-19.

The Results:

Speakap has become a valuable tool. They use it to share stories – about their core values, strategy, and even employee experiences – fostering a sense of connection. While they don't want to force anyone onto the app, it's become a significant communication channel. Warehouse employees particularly appreciate its convenience, often saying they've already seen the latest information.

Initially, communication flowed primarily from management and the communication team. However, they've seen a shift with more managers actively posting content. This increased engagement has led to an impressive 87% adoption rate, something they're very proud of.

They invest considerable effort into maintaining a lively app. They hold contests and share photos from staff events, creating a perfect blend of fun and work-related content. Highlighting individual employees through the app has also proven effective, fostering a stronger sense of community within the organization.
